Great Wolf Lodge with GiGi

Dear GiGi came to visit us in the beginning of December and surprised us with a trip to Great Wold Lodge.  It was wonderful!  We played in the water park all day and the following morning.  GiGi treated the kids to tons of games in the game room and we had McDonalds for breakfast.  It was such a special time.  It was fun to watch LG, as she LOVED the water.  She would be blue lipped and shivering, but did not want to come out.  Madeline and Ryan were best friends, following after each other, giggling and chattering.

Madeline's 9th Birthday

Where oh where have the years gone.  How can our precious first-born almost be in double digits.  This little girl is truly amazing.  She is smart and funny.  She works hard and is so diligent in her school work.  She perseveres when things are hard and she does not "get" them the first time.  And she has the sweetest, most tender spirit.  And what joy she brings to everything.  I am so proud to be her mommy.  Here she is opening a jewelry box.

It's a candy party for Madeline's birthday.  We have balloons hanging that are outfitted to look like candies, we have "Hershey kisses" adorning the table that are really rice krispie treats.  We are making candy necklaces, candy cane wreaths, and decorating picture frames.  It was an AWESOME time.

Ry's 7th Birthday

Ry and all his buds.  Wow, how much he's grown in the past year.  He is shaping into a remarkable young man.  He continues to be "all boy", super competitive, and loving sports, but he has always developed a sweet tenderness in his spirit that is really evident in his relationship with his baby sister.  I love this boy, and couldn't be more proud to be his mamma!

The theme of this year's birthday was Skylander Giants, and as his cake, he had a skylander portal.
