Trip to Ocracoke

While in Rodanthe, we decided to make the trek to Ocracoke Island.  Though the island was charming, I think the most exciting part of the trip was the ferry ride.  There is something so unusual and fun about driving your car onto a boat!
While at Ocracoke, we met up with the Flynn's and Brueggeman's for lunch.  I don't think it is a lunch that any of us will forget, right Christy and Stac. . .  Thankfully, Madeline and Emily had a great time sitting next to each other.  These girls are SO cute together!!!
Sorry, Nate. . .this might have to be a blackmail picture one day.  I could not resist posting it. . .his expression, his Hawaiian shirt, his hat and his sunglasses. . .
Our island adventure tuckered the kids and Daddy out.  Madeline holds her little dog, Luvy in her hands as she sleeps.
I never tire of watching my sweet babies sleep.  How angelic.
Here we are in front of the island's old light house.
It's just the girls posing for a picture together.
While waiting for the Bruegg's and Flynn's, we found an old country store that sold sodas in the bottle.  Matt and I love sodas in glass bottles and therefore had to try a few of them.  As you can see from the picture, Ryan REALLY enjoyed the cherry flavored soda.  He was covered with it and sticky by the time we were done.

Hey girl. . .how about giving Mommy and Daddy a sip.  Just like her Mommy and Daddy, Madeline loves anything sweet and sugary.  Let's just say that we were running to the potty an hour later!
