Our New Addition

My wonderful husband made one of my mommy dreams come true last night and bought me a minivan.  I love it, love it, love it!!!  I have visions of filling the seats with Madeline's and Ryan's friends (and Madeline and Ryan :)) and heading out for fun outings and events.

As for the details, it is a 2005 Toyota Sienna with 37,000 miles.  The interior is tan and the exterior is a reddish, maroon.  We had no idea we were buying a minivan last night.  In fact, we stayed out late visiting with neighbors at B&R's 31 cent scoop night.  When we arrived home a message was waiting for us on the answering machine.  Low and behold, on the last day of the month, the salesperson was coming way down in price on a van we looked at weeks ago.  Matt rejected the initial offer and told the salesperson the out the door price he would pay.  The salesperson asked if Matt would come that night and buy the car if he was able to get that price. Matt said yes and 15 minutes later, we received a call and headed to Fred Anderson Toyota. Matt is such a great negotiator!  It was 9pm when we got there and that was their official closing time.  When Matt looked at the car, he noticed that the back two wheels had considerable wear so he hemmed and hawed for at least 15 minutes.  By this time it was nearing 10pm and the salesperson's manager came out and asked what was holding things up.  The manager then offered to replace the back two tires, as part of the deal if Matt was willing to purchase the van then.  At 10:30pm, we drove our new Sienna home!!!  We are still perplexed as to how we are going to comfortably drive the van into the garage, but our neighbor's seem to be able to park their minivans in their garages.  Advice from any neighbors with big cars is being solicited!  The only down side was that Maddie and Ry did not get to sleep until almost 11pm and they have been struggling since they woke up this morning.  At 12:15 I finally declared it nap time and they are now sweetly sleeping!  We feel blessed and grateful that we do not have to spend time looking at cars anymore.
