Madeline's Beauty Salon

Oh my goodness, Matt and I had a great laugh.  What a wonderful brother Ryan is, allowing his sister to practice her beauty talents on him.  He is such a good sport, and we think Madeline has a future in beauty. . .I mean, check out that hair style!

Kids Week at The Summit

I love watching my boy worship!  The kids had an awesome time at Kid's Week. . .it's VBS with a cool name.  Their favorite part was the Penny Wars. . .boys against girls, with adult team captains.  Everyday, boys and girls brought pennies with them.  The money collected went toward a specific ministry.  When the winner was declared, the captain of the winning team got to make the captain of the losing team do something silly like. . .wearing costumes, painting nails, dancing onstage, petting worms. . .

Like I said, I love watching Madeline and Ryan worship God.

Look at my girl with her hands in the air!

The last night of Kids Weeks ended with a carnival.  It was complete with games, bounce houses, cotton candy, and snow cones, all set up in the Summit's parking lot. . .AWESOME!

Chinese Green Beans

Our sweet Chinese neighbor rang the doorbell a couple weeks ago, and presented us with Chinese green beans.  It was our first time laying eyes on such things, let alone eating them.  Madeline and Ryan loved them, as they were fun to eat.  Prior to boiling them, Madeline and Ryan also made them into necklaces and bracelets, thanks to Aunt Lanie's suggestions.

Piano Recital 2011

Our sweet girl had her first piano recital On June 10th.  She played Jesus Loves Me and On Wings of Song.  Matt and I are so proud of her.  She has been taking lessons with Mrs. Brown since January and doing a fabulous job.  She is diligent about practicing, and has become quite the piano player.

What a pretty girl.  I love this picture of her.  She told us that she was so nervous, but you would never guess.  She walked up to the piano and so confidently played her piece.  These new dangly earrings were purchased just for the special event.  And Mommy and Daddy surprised her at the end of the recital with a pair of birthstone earrings.

Playing her piece.

A duet with Mrs. Brown.
